Gas Line Installation and Repair in Doha

Gas work has no small mistakes. We connect cookers and hobs, replace worn hoses and regulators, run gas pipe from the cylinder to the kitchen, and test every joint before the first flame is lit.

  • Cooker and hob connections
  • Hoses, regulators and shut-off valves
  • Every joint leak-tested before use
Safety first

If You Smell Gas, Do This Now

Read this before anything else on the page.

  1. Do not touch any switch. Not the lights, not the extractor fan, not a doorbell. A spark at the switch is enough to ignite gas.
  2. Put out flames and cigarettes.Turn off the cooker knobs if you can reach them without leaning over the hob.
  3. Close the valve on the cylinder or the gas line.Turn the regulator knob to the closed position.
  4. Open the doors and windows.Cooking gas is heavier than air and collects at floor level, so open the doors as well.
  5. Leave, and call from outside.Use your phone only once you are out of the room. If the smell is strong or you hear hissing, call 999.
What we do

Gas Line Work We Take On

Cooker and hob connection

A new cooker connected with the correct hose, clips and regulator, then tested with every burner lit.

Hose and regulator replacement

Cracked, stiff or out-of-date hoses changed, and regulators that leak or will not close replaced.

Gas pipe to the kitchen

A fixed pipe run from an outdoor cylinder position to the cooker, with a shut-off valve you can reach.

Leak finding

Every joint from the cylinder to the appliance checked, and the leaking one remade or replaced.

Moving a gas point

The outlet shifted to suit a new kitchen layout during a renovation.

Shut-off valves

An isolation valve fitted near the appliance, so the gas can be closed without going to the cylinder.

Warning signs

Signs of a Gas Leak or a Faulty Connection

  • The smell of gas, even a faint oneCooking gas is given a strong odour for exactly this reason. Do not get used to it.
  • A hissing sound near the cylinder or hoseGas is escaping under pressure from a joint or a split.
  • Yellow or orange flamesA healthy burner flame is blue. Yellow means the gas is not burning cleanly.
  • Soot on pans or around the burnersAnother sign of poor combustion, often a blocked burner or wrong pressure.
  • A cylinder that empties faster than usualWith the same cooking, the difference is going somewhere.
  • A hose that is cracked, stiff or stickyRubber hose hardens with heat and age. Replace it before it splits.
Cylinders

Hoses and Regulators: Use the Approved Ones

Most homes in Qatar cook on LPG cylinders supplied by Woqod. Woqod has warned customers against regulators that are not approved for its cylinders, because a poor fit can damage the cylinder valve and let gas escape.

Its guidance is short: use only approved regulators and hoses, check the connection for leaks after every cylinder change, and turn the regulator to the closed position whenever the cooker is not in use.

The leak check is simple. Brush soapy water over the regulator and hose joints with the gas on. Bubbles that grow mean gas is escaping at that point. Close the valve and have the joint remade.

The process

How a Gas Line Job Is Done

  1. Inspect

We look at the cylinder position, the route to the appliance and the condition of what is there now.

  2. Quote

You receive the materials and the price in writing before any work starts.

  3. Install

Pipe, hose, regulator and shut-off valve are fitted and fixed so nothing hangs or rubs.

  4. Leak-test

Every joint is tested with the gas on, then each burner is lit and checked for a steady blue flame.

FAQ

Gas Line Questions

How often should a gas hose be replaced?

Check it every time you change the cylinder. Replace it at the first sign of cracking, stiffness or stickiness, and in any case by the date printed on the hose. A hose near the oven ages faster.

Is the soapy water test reliable?

Yes, for joints you can see and reach. It will not find a leak in a pipe buried in a wall. If you smell gas and the visible joints show no bubbles, close the valve and call.

Can the cylinder be kept inside a kitchen cabinet?

It is safer outside the kitchen in a ventilated spot, with a fixed pipe to the cooker. Gas that leaks inside a closed cabinet has nowhere to go and builds up at floor level.

Why is my cooker flame yellow?

The gas is not mixing with enough air. Blocked burner ports are the usual cause, followed by a regulator giving the wrong pressure. The burner should be cleaned and the regulator checked.

Do you install gas lines for restaurants?

Commercial gas systems must meet Civil Defence requirements and be installed by an approved contractor. Describe your kitchen to us first, and we will tell you whether the job is within what we do.

Can you connect a cooker I have just bought?

Yes. Tell us the model and whether it is gas, electric or both. A dual-fuel cooker also needs an electrical connection, which our electricians handle.
